2026 Ford Ranger: What's New
The 2026 Ford Ranger gets revised standard safety equipment, updated interior tech, and a new Tremor package replacing the outgoing off-road tier.

The 2026 Ford Ranger carries over the third-generation platform introduced for the 2024 model year with targeted updates: Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 becomes standard across all trims, the SYNC 4 system gets a software refresh, and the Tremor package returns as the mid-tier off-road option sitting between the XLT and Lariat. The base engine — a 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder — is unchanged at 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.
What changed for 2026
- Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 standard across all trims, adding Evasive Steering Assist and Intersection Assist to the existing suite
- Tremor package reintroduced — available on XLT and Lariat, includes 2-inch suspension lift, 32-inch all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, and Trail Control
- SYNC 4 software update on 12-inch screen; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now standard from XLT
- New exterior color: Hot Pepper Red Metallic added; Atlas Blue discontinued
- 360-degree camera available on XLT as a standalone option (previously Lariat-and-above only)
- Ranger Raptor unchanged — carries over with 405-hp 3.0L EcoBoost V6, Fox Live Valve shocks, and 33-inch BFGoodrich tires

How it fits in the market
The Ranger competes directly with the Chevrolet Colorado, Toyota Tacoma, and GMC Canyon. Ford's 2026 updates close a gap that existed on standard safety equipment — prior-year Rangers required buyers to move to Lariat for the full ADAS suite. Making it standard from XL brings the Ranger in line with what Tacoma and Colorado now offer from their base trims.
The Tremor package targets buyers cross-shopping the Colorado Z71 and Tacoma TRD Off-Road. At $40,400 for the XLT Tremor, it's priced to compete with those trims nearly dollar for dollar. The Ranger's max tow rating (7,500 lb) still trails the Colorado's 7,700-lb figure but leads the Tacoma (6,500 lb).
No tariff exposure: the 2026 Ranger is assembled in Michigan, making it fully tariff-exempt under current trade rules.
Current incentives
- $750 Ford Owner Advantage cash for existing Ford customers through May 31
- 4.49% APR for 60 months on XLT and Lariat through Ford Motor Credit
- Ranger Raptor: no incentive programs; selling at or above MSRP in most markets
- Conquest cash ($500) available for buyers coming from Toyota, GM, or Stellantis vehicles
