2026 Ford Ranger: What's New
The 2026 Ford Ranger gets revised standard safety equipment, updated interior tech, and a new Tremor package replacing the outgoing off-road tier.

The current Ranger has been my quiet favorite among mid-size trucks since it arrived for 2024 — it drives tighter than its rivals and the 2.3L EcoBoost has never felt short on muscle. For 2026 Ford did the sensible thing and patched the two soft spots: safety gear that used to cost you a trim jump, and the missing mid-tier off-road option. The base engine carries over unchanged at 270 hp and 310 lb-ft, which is fine by me.
What changed for 2026
- Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 standard across all trims, adding Evasive Steering Assist and Intersection Assist to the existing suite
- Tremor package reintroduced — available on XLT and Lariat, with a 2-inch lift, 32-inch all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, and Trail Control
- SYNC 4 software update on the 12-inch screen; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now standard from XLT
- New exterior color: Hot Pepper Red Metallic added; Atlas Blue discontinued
- 360-degree camera available on XLT as a standalone option (previously Lariat-and-above only)
- Ranger Raptor unchanged — 405-hp 3.0L EcoBoost V6, Fox Live Valve shocks, 33-inch BFGoodrich tires

How it fits in the market
The Ranger lives in a knife fight with the Chevrolet Colorado, Toyota Tacoma, and GMC Canyon, and Ford's 2026 updates are aimed squarely at where it was losing. Making the full ADAS suite standard from the XL is the big one — prior Rangers made you climb to Lariat for it, which I always thought was stingy when the Tacoma and Colorado gave it to you on the base truck.
The Tremor is the trim I'd point an off-road-curious buyer toward. At $40,400 for the XLT Tremor, it's priced to fight the Colorado Z71 and Tacoma TRD Off-Road head on. On tow, the Ranger's 7,500-lb max splits the difference — it trails the Colorado's 7,700 lb but beats the Tacoma's 6,500 lb. And like the rest of Ford's trucks, it's assembled in Michigan, so it's fully tariff-exempt under current rules.
Current incentives
- $750 Ford Owner Advantage cash for existing Ford customers through May 31
- 4.49% APR for 60 months on XLT and Lariat through Ford Motor Credit
- Ranger Raptor: no incentive programs; selling at or above MSRP in most markets
- Conquest cash ($500) for buyers coming from Toyota, GM, or Stellantis vehicles
